WHAT HOLIDAY IS IT?

I'm so confused!
I don't know what holiday it is.
At least I know it's Friday.
Yea for Mrs. 4444 and yea for FRIDAY FRAGMENTS!

Anyway -
I'm holiday conflicted.
After glitterizing the corn for my Thanksgiving table decor,
I started hauling out the Christmas Village.

* The other day,
I was in line buying something and I almost wrote "July" on my check.
But out of the corner of my eye,
I saw someone in a Halloween costume.
I did a double take.
It wasn't a costume.
It was an old wrinkled Rastafarian.
He was 75 with dreads.
It was Jimi Hendrix come back from the dead.
See why I'm confused?
People lookin like it's Halloween all year!

*Should I iron the Thanksgiving tablecloths and set the table,
or should I deck the halls?
Should I plan my Thanksgiving menu,
or should I change all the sheets for the impending arrival of guests?
Should I make a shopping list
or just sit around reading and eating the platter of Christmas cookies on my counter?
So many decisions!

* Have you seen the new Harry Potter?
Come on!
It's been out for 8 hours!
What are you waiting for?

* We DID NOT go see it at midnight.
We will see it as a family over the Thanksgving holdiay.
Like THAT won't add to my confusion -
a scary movie about witches at Thanksgiving.

* My niece is an "over the top" Harry Potter fan.
I received a text message from her that "someone" was at my house in a cloak
and they were taping signs on my door.
I opened my door and found this:
It's my nephew!  Look at that face!  HOW could you call him Undesirable?
That's it!  I'm taking him away from his mean, mean family!

* Guess what I did yesterday!
Not blog!
My back is KILLING me.
I spent the ENTIRE day setting up this:

Well, back to the chore list!
Have a great weekend!

Love your village! I have a big one too but I am running out of room. I feel bad for Thankgiving but I'm already sneaking out a few Christmas decorations. :)

Ma'am, step away from the Christmas Village. You've already had too much excitement.

I'm decorating this weekend. I don't care what the calendar says.

Wow, I'm impressed with your setup! I'm also impressed that you have the willpower to wait to see HP7. It's killing me that I didn't get to see it at midnight. We have tickets for a 7:30 showing and I'm counting down the minutes!

Happy Friday :)

We're seeing Harry Potter tomorrow. Normally we would wait until the crowds had subsided, but our boys wanted to spend the entire day at a chess tournament. We said, "What if we take you to Harry Potter instead?" It was the lesser of two evils.

LOL! I love your post. Totally had me laughing.

It just seems like everything is coming at us at warp speed this year. I just want it to SLOW DOWN.

Thank you for visiting my blog today. I appreciate the comment you left.

I am embarassed to say that the Halloween decorations are still up outside. Care you make a little trek to Boston and help me sort out my Holidays?

BTW, Love your village. I am envious of your ability to keep breakables in one piece. :)

Holy cow, that is quite the little Village going on, my back would be hurting too!

I think the time just goes so fast in general it is hard for me to keep up with anything. I can hardly believe it's almost 2011. Crazy!

That village is beyond awesome!!!! That's the one thing that we have here in Canada - our Thanksgiving is in October, so it is far enough away from Christmas to lessen the confusion - with Halloween in the middle there is a clear distinction.

Too funny about the Post halloween Hendrix sighting :)!

The village looks beautiful!!! One child doesn't want to see Christmas up until after Thanksgiving. I'm sneaking some things up anyway.
